Book Review by Mali aged 15. I've recently read 'We Were Liars' by E. Lockhart. Thrilling, surprising and entertaining! On the cover, the book was reviewed by John Green. As an avid John Green fan, it sparked my interest. When I first started reading the book it wasn't keeping me engaged. It was slow moving and it felt like nothing was really happening and I was just waiting for it to grab my attention. But Lockhart slowly draws you in, she drip feeds the reader plot details and gradually gets you intrigued into the complexity of the story and the characters. Candice Sinclair is 18 years old. She has suffered a mysterious accident that has left her with amnesia. She comes from a well known family whose reputation is known around the area. As the story unfolds, we come to understand that all is not what it seems. Does the reader feel the narrator reliable.....or not? I read this book in one day. Not shifting from the warm chair beside the fire. You should do the same! ... See MoreSee Less

Kerri DeeganI did the same, I had to keep reading to see what the mystery was and at the end I thought WOW didn't see that coming. I work in a secondary school library and will be recommending it to many readers.20 hours ago
