Hello! I’m Kate, current custodian and keeper of the Farrells legacy. My reading tastes have been evolving somewhat in recent years – previously mostly a fiction reader, I am now finding myself drawn more to narrative nonfiction (current affairs, biography, personal development, science…). My book club, which has been running for 14 years, keeps my reading diversity very fresh! Now that my children are older I do miss picture story books – they are such a unique art form, able to communicate so much through so few words and beautiful illustrations – adults really should continue to read them whether they have children or not. When not at Farrells (or thinking about Farrells, or reading something for Farrells…) I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, walking or cuddling with my dog, Mabel, working in the garden and any number of crafty activities from sewing to polymer clay jewellery and watercolour painting (badly!).
